Thanksgiving

Tomorrow begins the true kick-off of the Holiday Season and in the busyness of all of the hoopla it can sometimes be hard to remember the gratitude that we have for the blessings in our lives.  While we wait for our food to come out of the oven, my family and I are going to play the Skittles Gratitude game. Just pass a bag of skittles around, pick out one and express your gratitude according to the scale above.   To get you in the mood, we wanted to share our HCQU Gratitude with you.

RED – A Person Grateful for

Although there are lots of reasons to be thankful for each one of our team members, Denise Quinn, our Training Coordinator, comes to mind.  She does an immense amount of detailed work each day and is often the first person to communicate with our providers.  She keeps all of us on the road, headed to the right place and makes sure we are prepared for our day.  We couldn’t do what we do without her.

ORANGE – An Experience Grateful for

I am grateful for the experience of developing our very first virtual reality training.  It was great to learn about something new but it was thrilling to see how we can use technology to impact and keep safe the people we support.

YELLOW – A Skill Grateful for

The skill that I am most grateful for is the skills of our Clinical Team members.  They receive many questions on a variety of topics and often they know how to help.  When they don’t they always go the extra mile to find out how or who can be most helpful.  They amaze me with their passion, compassion, and creativity.

GREEN – A Memory Grateful for

I don’t have just one memory but I am thankful for our staff meetings.  The best way I have found to describe our staff meetings is a pack of puppies that are so excited to see each other.  We spend most of our time out on the road and often don’t see each other in person so our staff meetings are filled with joy, laughter, and comradery.

PURPLE – A Place Grateful for

I am grateful for our new office.  It is wonderful to have a space that is quiet, organized, and inspires us to do our best work.

Tonight on your way home, stop and pick up a bag of skittles and see what has caused gratitude in your family or work family this year.

We wish you the very best Thanksgiving!
