What A Find!
Shopping online for shoes has become the easiest way for me to find the right size and fit. I decided to look at sites I had not been on for awhile and remembered that Zappos has a great selection.
I typed in Zappos and found something really exciting. Zappos Adaptive “Functional and Fashionable Products to Make Life Easier. We carry a wide range of adaptive clothing and shoes with unique features to fit a variety of needs”. They have not only shoes but also clothing for making it easier for people with disabilities to get dressed.
Zappos Adaptive launched in 2017. Where had I been for three years? An extension of Zappos .com, they work with brands they carry to share information learned about the clothing needs of people with disabilities. The products are developed and Zappos bring the products to their site for an easy one place shopping experience.
A wide variety of sensory-friendly clothing, reversable shirts and pants, clothing with magnetic fasteners, post-surgical clothing, easy-on/off shoes and shoes for people with diabetes are available through the website. This past July Zappos Adaptive launched it’s latest venture, the Single and Different Size Shoes Test Program. As stated in the press release, this is “the first-of-its-kind digital offering allows customers of all abilities the opportunity to purchase a single shoe or shoes of different sizes.” Dana Zumbo, Business Development Manager of Zappos Adaptive said “Customer service is our number one goal, and we’re endlessly committed to ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and confident in their own shoe or shoes.”
