Hallmark Movies and Mysteries will Feature Actor with Autism

“The Christmas Bond” will air as part of the Hallmark network’s “Miracles of Christmas” which begins October 22, 2021.  This is the first time Hallmark will feature an actor on the autism spectrum. The movie stars Holly Robinson Peete and Nik Sanchez, an actor with autism.  Peete is also the executive producer of the film.

Peete plays a single mother with a teenaged son with autism, played by Sanchez.  Mother and son come to a crossroads during Christmas when she must learn to let go so her son can flourish.  Mom also finds herself healing in unexpected ways.

Peete, in real life, is a parent to a son on the spectrum.  She says she is making the movie for her son RJ, others with autism, and their families. Peete is quoted as saying, “I am grateful to Hallmark for bringing this story to screen with authenticity, respect, and hope.”

Reps for Sanchez say that Sanchez not only plays a young man with autism, but also “prides himself in being awesomely autistic.”

I will keep my eye on the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries schedule for the date and time as I don’t want to miss this event.  I will have my bowl of popcorn and my box of tissue ready to get me through this Hallmark first.

Thank you Hallmark and Holly Robinson Peete for putting autism in your signature holiday movie lineup. Check out Hallmark schedule here hallmarkchannel.com.
