Bridging the Gap: Accessible Transportation in Rural Areas

Imagine needing to rely on someone else every time you need to go somewhere. For many with special needs, especially in rural areas, this is a daily reality. They may have to depend on others to get to appointments, events, or activities. Who do they call? How do they find someone reliable? Fortunately, many companies provide transportation services.

Introducing Point A to B Transportation LLC

Point A to B Transportation LLC is a new company servicing Armstrong and Indiana counties. They specialize in providing transportation services to those with special needs and seniors living in rural areas.

“With every journey we undertake, we strive to empower our passengers to access essential services, maintain social connections, and experience the joy of independence.”  With this being part of their mission statement, they are exemplifying their core values of reliability, accessibility, compassion, and community.

Meet the Owners and Heart Behind the Company

“My name is Duane St. Antoine. My wife and I started this transportation business from a more personal point. Our son has an Intellectual and Physical Disability. We experienced difficulty when arranging transportation for our personal schedules while providing for our son. When I decided I wanted to get out of the Law Enforcement field, I needed to think of what I would like to do everyday, as I was not yet officially of retirement age. My wife (Robin) and I started doing the training of working with ODP with the thought of helping not only our son’s needs but a few others that we are acquainted with.

They are close and outside on a sunny late summer or early fall day by the look of the trees in the background. He is wearing a white polo and she is wearing a white cami with dark gray seater. They both look happy.

I volunteer with Miracle League in Indiana County YMCA, also with the ARC of Indiana through the Special Olympics in the Armstrong/Indiana County Chapter. I enjoy spending this time with my son and his peers.

As I got to meet more parents and caregivers, I have been asked and somewhat told to please expand the business because so many are still in need of transportation in our area. I have currently only been in business since June 2024 and hope to expand.  Expanding is challenging because I was not starting this from an entrepreneur mindset, only a daily activity I would enjoy that would still bring in an income. I have already started trying to spread my wings and gather the knowledge I need to not only expand the transportation for more individuals but to also understand the business side that will all bring.

We hope to expand gradually and steadily sometime in 2025.

Thank you so much for reaching out to me and shining a light on my new business. All Supports Coordinators are invited to email me with contact information if they wish for me to contact them when availability opens up.”

The photo is light dappled as if it is a sunny day with a lot of nearby trees casting shadows. They are parked in a suburban community with leaves on the cement near their shoes. The image features the topic of transportation in rural areas.
